The world-famous APOLLO THEATER in HARLEM, NYC, will STEVIE WONDER into the APOLLO Legends Hall of Fame as part of its 2011 SPRING Gala benefit. The legendary singer will give a special performance as part of the festivities -- and be joined by several friends in a special evening dedicated to his legacy as an artist and philanthropist.

"Since his debut performance in 1962 as part of BERRY GORDY’s "MOTOWN Revue," STEVIE WONDER has a long history with the APOLLO, and we are beyond thrilled that he will perform at the Gala," APOLLO Pres./CEO, JONELLE PROCOPE said. "Normally the artists being honored don’t perform but what better way to celebrate the music and legacy of STEVIE WONDER than hearing from the genius himself"

WONDER joins past inductees such as MICHAEL JACKSON, ARETHA FRANKLIN, QUINCY JONES, PATTI LABELLE, SMOKEY ROBINSON, JAMES BROWN, GLADYS KNIGHT, LITTLE RICHARD and ELLA FITZGERALD.
