Los Angeles, CA November 28, 2011 - Music producer and songwriter Marcus Singleton is set to release a full-length solo project featuring ten new songs, each one representing distinct artistic works hanging on the walls of a metaphorical gallery located within the mind of the artist. His inaugural full-length solo venture, The Gallery is replete with a man’s search for the ubiquitous dream woman, but hints at the unavoidable regret in the discovery that he has yet to encounter his most prized piece of art, his “Mona Lisa.” This album, albeit a resounding sonic venture, aims to emphasize Singleton as an artist whose mediums are multi-faceted and not restricted to only music. The Gallery features the artistic input of several members of the burgeoning Los Angeles hip-hop scene, including JCali, Thrills, and Vox, the latter two representing Block Cheddar, one of the more outstanding bastions of the distinctive sound booming out of Southern California. The collaborations are a reunion of sorts, as Singleton’s preceding mixtape, The Exhibition, showcased the same collaborators. The mixtape performed spectacularly for a low-budget introductory project made by an unsigned artist, accumulating over 850 plays on SoundCloud in just three days. Listeners commented on the evocative sounds, slick production, and seamless vocal treatment, compliments which are sure to be repeated with the release of The Gallery. Download Link:
