South Side Interview With Arkatechbeatz.com

Brick Squads producer, South Side is quickly making a name for himself. His hard hitting, menacing beats can be heard on albums and various mixtapes. From working as an inhouse producer knocking out bangers with Gucci Mane & Waka Flocka, South Side has lined himself up perfectly to be a producer to watch out for in 2011. ATB: For our readers, run down your resume real quick. Let em know some of the joints you did, some of the artist you’ve worked with, etc.
S.S: I’m South Side aka Sizzle, I’ve worked with Waka Flocka, Gucci Mane, Wooh Da Kid, Oj Da Juice Man, Lil Scrappy, Rich Kid Shawty, but I’m mainly a Brick Squad producer
ATB: Good sh*t! Where are you from?
S.S: I’m from Atlanta
ATB: ..and how long have you been producing for?
S.S: For about 3 yrs
ATB: How did it feel to have your first major placement? And how did it happen?
S.S: um it was crazy… um it just happened..dey told me da songs where going on the album
ATB: Just like that…that’s dope. Is the biz everything you’ve expected?
S.S: um no it’s the complete opposite of what everyone expects
ATB: How would you describe your sound?
S.S: Gangsta but I can make a variety of things but dark n up tempo
ATB: Dope! What equipment do you use?
S.S: FL Studios
ATB: How long does it take you to make a beat?
S.S: 10 to 15 mins
ATB: Wow that’s pretty quick. Do you make beats with artist in mind or do you go with whatever and stash it until the right artist comes?
S.S: Never, I just do me
ATB: Interesting..now we have this column on arkatechbeatz.com called Music Industry Bullsh*t where we vent about some of the B.S we go through as producers. What’s one thing in this biz that your tired of dealing with?
S.S: Snakes! Everybody is trying to snake everybody, just do business da right way
ATB: That’s true. Now there are a lot of young cats trying to get into music production or just trying to take their sound to the next level. Do you have any production tips?
S.S: Don’t be scared to be different
ATB: Good advice, so now what’s next for you? What projects do you have coming that we should look out for?
S.S: um Juice Man album, The Brick Squad album, um Wakas new album, Guccis new album n of course there mixtapes. Ima do another mixtape wit my beats n sh*t n things wit a lot other people. I want some of em to surprise yall
ATB: That’s wsup, you got your hands full. Any artist you would like to work with that you haven't yet?
S.S: Lil Wayne
ATB: Yeah Lil Wayne is def one of those artist that everyone wants to get to. So how can fans keep up with you and stay informed on the latest with you?
